There are toys and books for children of all ages. Sunny windows, plants, and art make this a cozy refuge no matter the weather. A lovely place to spend an evening.

Across the room is our breakfast area, beautifully furnished by local craftsmen. Breakfasts include juice, fresh fruit, cereal, a delectable hot entrée, home baked goods, toast, homemade jams, coffee and tea, as well as cheery smiles, music and bird songs.

Enjoy the view of the gardens, the birdfeeder activity, and the deep blue of Fairy Lake.

Fairy Bay Guest House

The Guest House was built in 1997 on the site of a resort called "Fairy Bay Cottages" established in the 30's.

We have incorporated many special features designed to improve your comfort and to be environmentally friendly. These include:

  • Low E, argon-filled windows Individual climate control (heating, cooling, circulating fan) for each bedroom
  • Sun-screening blinds
  • Smoke and CO detectors
  • Monitored fire protection system
  • Processed municipal water
  • Hot water heated floor in the lounge
  • Extra insulation and sound proofing throughout

On the upper level, a large bright common room with couches and easy chairs, locally-made maple tables and a well-filled bookcase looks out a huge window into the trees and over Deerhurst Highland Golf Course. A wooden chess board is surrounded by a set of blue chairs for watching, reading or listening to CD's. Several posters, including a map of the fabulous Trans Canada Trail, and some paintings of Muskoka decorate the walls.

A cartoon map of the area painted by a young local artist enlivens this area, as well as a couple of posters of birds to help you identify the species you see at our feeders. A table, a bulletin board and brochure racks hold many sources of information about area events , activities, restaurants, and shopping available to guests.

Guests are welcome to store their goodies in the fridge or freezer, prepare a quick lunch, heat something in the microwave, or make coffee, tea or chocolate. Complimentary soft drinks are found in the fridge, and a pot of biscuits on the counter.

The kitchenette is equipped with a refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle, ice maker, microwave, condiments and dishes. The extra tap at the sink produces processed municipal water and the ice cubes are made from it too.

There is a gas barbecue and a firepit on the beach for your steaks and your marshmallows! Lots of chairs and picnic tables in the sun or shade!

Upper Deck

Several bright wooden chairs and hanging pots of flowers in the summer make a lovely trellised outdoor space. Smokers may find refuge here too.

Mud Room

Beach towels are ready to be grabbed and taken outdoors in the summer from this closed-in porch with it's wicker chairs and collection of hats from around the world.

In winter, this room becomes a heated change room, and a drying and storage area for snowmobile suits, skates and cross-country ski attire.
